How to use the car battery load tester
Charge the battery fully
Resting voltage should be about 12.6–12.8V. A half-charged battery gives a false low reading.
Connect the clamps
Red to positive (+), black to negative (−). Keep contact firm.
Apply the 100A load for 10 seconds
Press and hold LOAD for a full 10 seconds without releasing.
Read the voltage while the load is on
Note the reading at the 10-second mark — that is the battery's real health.
Release and let it cool
Release the load and allow about 60 seconds before the next test.
